Like a fish on  a dry land, Kristofur is stuck in a dull everyday routine, working as a security guard. He got fired from the freight ship he worked on, when he was caught smuggling alcohol Faced with money problems, he is tempted to accept the help of his friend, Steingrimur, who manages to pull some strings to get him his old job back. He decides to takes his chances one last time on a tour to Rotterdam.We come into Kristofers life as he is working as a security guard, after having done some time in jail for smuggling alcohol while working on a ship. Kristofer is struggling to support his family and gets the opportunity to do one last tour on a freighter between Reykjavik and Rotterdam. While glad to rejoin his old mates on the ship, Kristofer finds out that some are not worthy of his trust.
